“We chose Whiskers and Wags Pet Sitting because we wanted a full service pet sitter since our kittens tend to get into trouble. Kate leaves notes, sends pictures, and plays with them during the visit. When problems arise, she handles them with professionalism, genuineness, and care. Recently one of our kittens needed medical attention while we were away. Kate informed us of the problem and took him to the vet. She kept us informed every step of the way. He's doing great now. We have had many cat sitters over the years and without hesitation, I would say that Kate is the best!“

“"We adopted Jimmy from PetConnect Rescue. Though sweet, energetic and playful, the PetConnect folks warned me he also had some behavior problems--growling, hissing, swiping, hiding and being hostile with strangers. PetConnect offered to pay cat behavior consultant Kate Luse so we could get some help. Kate made valuable suggestions about preparing a space for Jimmy and easing him into life at his new home. From the start, he was good with me and with our kitten, Lynxy, but he growled, hissed, and clawed at the men and dog in the house. Kate came over, respectfully looked around the house, met Jimmy, asked questions, and made suggestions. Kate speaks Cat and loves them. Jimmy made amazing progress! Kate's suggestions were easily doable, and we're all animal lovers in my home so we were happy to follow them. I have not regretted taking on an animal with some baggage, and watching him bloom has been wonderful. Kate has provided follow up and has given us simple tips that made huge differences in relations between Jimmy and the men and dog. Now he rubs against my boyfriend Mike's legs and loves playing with him. He's taken longer to allow Mike to pet him but he's coming along, building trust every day. I'm so grateful for Kate Luse's insights and gentleness with both Jimmy and us humans."“

“Our cats, Juno and Sylvie, used to jump up on the kitchen counter and get into any food that was sitting out. It drove us nuts! Kate helped us understand that they were doing this because they were bored and because the people food they got every time they jumped on the counter kept them coming back. She showed us how to train our cats to do other things, like go to a food puzzle, instead of counter surfing. She also helped us figure out that we just couldn’t leave food out if we ever wanted to teach them that the food puzzles are where the pay-off is. She was patient and thorough in teaching us how to use only positive reinforcement methods to address our cats’ problem behavior.“

“Our dog Ellie is a little timid, but Kate always makes her feel safe and loved. She gets lots of attention, treats, and walks with Kate. I really think Ellie thinks being with Kate is like being with us! And our cat Benny doesn’t like having his routine disrupted. Kate is very good at keeping everything just how he likes it. He’s also on a diet, and Kate is very careful not to overfeed him. He was actually one of Kate’s foster cats before we adopted him and I think he sees Kate as part of the family.“

“We travel often, and when we do, we have Kate come to take care of our cats. She’s the best. In fact, we adopted one of our cats, Tilly, from her. She was fostering Tilly for a rescue. Two of our cats are on special diets, and Kate makes sure they eat only their food, the litter boxes are always clean, and water bowls full of fresh water. Our cat Maloo was feral and doesn’t trust strangers but she trusts Kate, who is always patient with her and careful not to scare her with loud noises.“

“I adopted my dog Mikey from a rescue when he was 6 years old. He’s my first dog so I worry about him a lot. When Kate first came to my house, I was nervous about having someone I didn’t know take care of my dog. But as soon as Kate walked through the door, I knew I had nothing to worry about. Mikey went right over to greet her, climbed in her lap, and let her pet him like they were old friends. Kate is so kind and gentle, which is perfect for a shy dog like mine. I no longer have to stress when I’m away because Mikey loves it when Kate comes to visit!“

“My family and I went on vacation and we wanted to make sure that our beloved cat Mooch had the best care possible. We heard about Kate and her business through my veterinarian and the rest is history. Mooch has chronic kidney disease and needs subcutaneous fluids every other day. I’m a former veterinary technician so am very critical and particular about Mooch’s care. When I spoke to Kate, I knew immediately that Mooch would be in great hands! Kate and her independent contractor, John, gave him so much love and attention that I think he forgot we were away. They provided us with daily photos and reports so that we didn’t worry about him. Although he loves us, I think Mooch is looking forward to our next vacation so he can see Kate and John again!“
